Lehmann “Orbis” globe top

orbis-for-site-001

This is one of the rarest and finest of the Lehmann tops. It is called Orbis, and it was designated as EPL 762. This is the English version and was made between 1924-34. They were very hard to produce, and few have survived. The metal globe was made by using the two hemispheres of the earlier balloon toys known as Mars Luna. You hold the blue base with one hand and pull the string, and the top spins for a very long time.
