Lehmann “Aut LaLa Delivery Van w/driver” with box
This delivery van is known as “Aut LaLa” and was designated as EPL 620. These were made in relatively small numbers from 1907-35. It is powered by coilspring windup drive and the front wheels can be aimed to go straight, at an angle or in a circle. The original box is exceptional and includes the instructional sheet showing the “automatic arrest” feature where the windup mechanism stops when the toy is lifted off the table or floor. The body is similar to those used in IHI (EPL 595) and Royal Mail (EPL 585).
