These were made from 1904 to 1948 and depict a dancing or drunken sailor. These EPL 535 toys come with several different ribbons on the hat, each representing a different naval vessel. You wind up the sailor and watch him sway as if drunk or stand him on his head and watch his legs flail. The body is metal, but covered with fabric clothing. This one comes in the wonderful original box and shows a sailor from the “Columbia.”
