This 1950s post war Japanese toy by Showa is so strikingly similar to the Lehmann “Ajax” made from 1914 to 1941. It is smaller than the Lehmann at about 6 inches tall and shows a clown figure instead of a warrior, but it is hard to ignore the similarities. Both toys have polka-dot clothing, long pointed feet and hold clubs that look like baseball bats fixed on each side of the head, turning and doing a somersault while fully extending.
