Many of the Lehmann toys were copied or replicated between WWI and WWII by the Japanese. Lehmann was very protective of his patent rights and took aggressive action to protect his company, so it unknown how the Japanese were able to make and market this nearly identical version of the Balky Mule. There is no branding to disclose the maker of this toy, unlike many other PWJ Lehmann toys. It is a high quality, nearly exact duplicate of the Lehmann Balky Mule toy. These are very hard to find, and this one is in very nice condition.
