The earliest of the New Century 3 wheeled toys had a crank drive mechanism. Then came the same toy with a windup mechanism with the solid finger tab. At first look, the pretty bird umbrellas look the same. But take a second look. On the left is the umbrella off the crank version, and the right shows the later windup with finger tab. Notice the additional color on the later umbrella on the right. Notice the butterflies. So, where are the butterflies on the less colorful early version? Were they added later? Or was this happenstance of the cut of the lithoed metal used on the toy, causing it to not “receive” any butterflies?
