Lehmann “INDU” man decapitates native

EPL 824 or “INDU” is unlike any other Lehmann toy.  Made from 1937 to 1945 it shows “an East Indian in painted oriental costume unsuccessfully attempting to decapitate a man in loin cloth, but his head does not come off when the sword passes through.  The head with stem pulls out of the toy since it actually extends through the toy and protrudes out the rear for inspection.  The observer is left to question how this optical illusion works. Read the Cieslik book to find out! This toy bears the correct Lehmann item number of 824 but curiously neither the Lehmann name or logo appear on the toy.
