This is believed to be THE rarest Lehmann toy in the world. According to the leading book on the subject, “Lehmann Toys” by Jurgen & Marianne Cieslik (1988) “. . .[s]o far only one specimen of this ‘Electric cab’ EPL No. 335 has been discovered. The American collector Kenny Harman unearthed it and found that some parts of the drive mechanism had unfortunately been lost.” Id. at p. 77, fn. 177. The authors found in an early longhand list of toys from Lehmann company records a reference to “335 Electric Cab” and gushed at the extraordinary discovery of the Kenny Harman find in the 1988 book. The toy depicted here is believed to be the only complete example of this toy and appears to be in better condition than the Harman sample. It has a complete mechanism and is fully operational. The mechanics of the movement are unlike any other Lehmann toy.
